N₂ ORS Oxygen Reduction Fire Prevention Systems

Most fire systems wait for flames and smoke. N₂ ORS® prevents ignition in the first place.

Hypoxic fire prevention is an active fire protection system that prevents ignition by lowering oxygen levels in a room. Using on-site nitrogen generation, the system continuously maintains a non-combustible atmosphere, protecting facilities such as cold storage rooms, warehouses and archives without the need for traditional fire suppression.

What is an oxygen reduction fire prevention system?

An oxygen reduction fire prevention system is an active fire protection solution that lowers oxygen concentration in a protected area to a controlled level where combustion cannot be sustained.

N₂ ORS does this by generating nitrogen on site and using it to create and maintain an oxygen-reduced atmosphere inside the protected space. Instead of waiting for a fire to start and then suppressing it, the system works continuously to help prevent ignition in the first place.

This makes oxygen reduction an attractive solution for facilities where business interruption, product damage, water damage, or asset loss would have major consequences.

they start.

The N₂ ORS® system  avoids the damage created by a fire and by traditional fire suppression systems.

24/7 Protection

The reduced oxygen environment generated makes it impossible for a fire to start in the first place.

Unparalleled Safety
& Reliability

Isolcell S.p.A has been part of the work group for the establishment of the world regulations (ISO 20338:2019) for the oxygen reduction fire prevention as well as of the European standard (EN 16750:2017)

Why prevent fire instead of fighting it later?

Most fire protection systems are reactive. N₂ ORS is designed around prevention.

Traditional fire suppression

Conventional systems respond after a fire has already started. Detection, alarm and extinguishing only happen once damage is already possible. In sensitive spaces, suppression media such as water, foam or gas can also create additional loss, contamination or downtime.

N₂ ORS fire prevention

N₂ ORS works continuously to maintain conditions in which a fire cannot ignite. That means round-the-clock protection, no extinguishing-agent damage, and a stronger focus on asset protection, continuity, and risk reduction.

Built for safety, control and reliability

Advanced oxygen monitoring

HarvestWatch is designed for practical commercial use, with a simple plug-and-play networking installation that makes setup straightforward.

Flexible & modular

HarvestWatch is well suited to complex rooms with multiple lots or maturities. Additional sensors can be added where needed, allowing operators to monitor exact fruit response  rather than relying on an average.

Continuous hourly monitoring

HarvestWatch provides continuous hourly monitoring of the fruit’s response throughout storage. This gives operators on-going visibility as conditions change.

Precise & Direct

HarvestWatch uses chlorophyll fluorescence to precisely detect the fruit’s Low Oxygen Limit directly from the fruit itself, allowing the operator to respond timeleously.

Respond to the weakest fruit

In commercial storage, the room is only as strong as its most sensitive fruit. HarvestWatch helps operators detect the response of weaker fruit in the room, making it possible to manage oxygen more safely and accurately across mixed fruit conditions.

Detects changing fruit condition

Because HarvestWatch tracks the fruit’s physiological response over time, it can help reveal incorrect storage conditions as well as changes linked to fruit ageing and senescence.

Applications

TermoWatch monitors the temperature in a steri-tunnel at a cold-store.

Cold stores and refrigerated warehouses

Cold storage facilities are a strong fit for oxygen reduction fire prevention. They are typically enclosed, temperature-controlled environments where traditional extinguishing methods may damage valuable goods and only respond after a fire has already begun.

Wireless temperature monitoring in retail and supermarket.

Retail freezers and fridges

Monitor freezers, fridges and display cabinets more easily from one central system. TermoWatch helps retailers identify faults faster and reduce the risk of stock loss.

Wireless temperature monitoring in a pharmaceutical lab.

Research & pharmacy laboratories

Where temperature and humidity compliance matter, TermoWatch supports reliable monitoring, documentation and audit visibility for controlled environments.
