CA Accessories for Fruit Storage

Enhance the core functionality of your Controlled Atmosphere equipment.

Controlled atmosphere storage accessories are supporting products used alongside CA equipment such as nitrogen generators, CO₂ scrubbers and controls. They help operators manage room pressure, humidity, gas monitoring, calibration, gas tightness and fruit maturity assessment for more stable and reliable storage conditions.

Hand Held Gas Analysers

A range of durable and highly accurate gas analysers suitable for the monitoring of controlled atmosphere rooms.

The analyser range includes:

  • Oxygen

  • Carbon Dioxide

  • Ammonia

  • Ethylene

Automatic Starch Meters

The Amilon starch meter by Isolcell uses computer image analysis for the assessment of the Starch Pattern Index (SPI) to measure the ripeness of apples and pears. The instrument overcomes the subjectivity of visual assessment.

Manometers

Manometers are used to monitor pressure variation inside controlled atmosphere rooms. In sealed CA storage, pressure changes can affect room integrity, doors and pressure balancing systems. Reliable pressure monitoring helps operators manage room conditions more safely and confidently.

Isolcoat

ISOLCOAT is a non-toxic elastic waterproofing resin that is used as an internal coating in controlled atmosphere storage rooms to achieve gas tightness. ISOLCOAT can be applied to masonry walls, polystyrene or sandwich insulation panels. It is the most popular gas sealing product on the market.

Janny MT Bins

Janny MT bins are individual controlled atmosphere storage modules. Sized like standard produce bins, they are stackable, durable and designed to maintain balanced oxygen and carbon dioxide levels through the fruit’s natural respiration. Patented membranes reduce oxygen entry while allowing carbon dioxide to escape. No electricity or external gas supply is required.

Calibration Gases

Portable calibration gas cylinders with reference gas mixtures used as a comparative standard in the calibration of analytical instruments.

The calibration gas range includes:

  • 2% CO₂/O₂ mix

  • NH₃ 20 ppm

  • Ethylene 15 ppm

  • Nitrogen 0% O₂

Water Meters

Water meters help operators monitor water usage linked to cold room defrost cycles and humidity management. This can support better control of storage conditions and help assess moisture loss risks during operation.

Low Pressure Relief Valves

Low pressure relief valves are an important accessory for controlled atmosphere storage rooms. They protect CA rooms against pressure build-up and vacuum conditions during nitrogen injection, CO₂ scrubbing, cooling cycles, and normal operation. This helps protect doors, panels and seals and supports stable low-oxygen fruit storage.

Humidity Control

There is growing interest in controlling humidity levels and monitoring water loss associated with defrost cycles in cold rooms. Gas At Site offers technologies that help manage room humidity and support fruit quality during storage. At storage temperatures below 0°C, ultrasonic technology is often the most suitable option.

Lungs / Air bags

CA lungs or air bags help storage rooms accommodate volume changes as temperature and pressure shift. By allowing the room to “breathe”, they reduce structural strain and can lower nitrogen demand during operation, supporting more stable controlled atmosphere storage.
